Quartersnacks is NYC’s supreme skate brand. Born as a blog covering the odds and ends of NYC skateboarding as well as featuring a huge ass map to the city’s best spots, Quartersnacks quickly began selling merch that soon enough turned QS into a straight-up streetwear brand. Many of you know ‘em for their successful Quartersnacks Top 10 series. Still, a lot of people ask why it’s called Quartersnacks. The answer’s simple: in a city where living in windowless ratholes in roach-infested, dilapidated apartment complexes will run you $1.500 a month, every quarter counts. And since skateboarders aren’t exactly known for being career-oriented (or smart with pecuniary matters to begin with), you’ll find them struggling to grab the most carbs for the smallest amount of dough. Speaking of dough: eventually, some slick NYC skateboarders found out where to get cookies for as little as 25 cents. In short, snacks for a quarter. Quartersnacks. It ain’t rocket science.Â

The impossibly cheap cookies also feature in the Quartersnacks logo. Aptly called the Quartersnacks Snackman, this sugary abomination’s body is made of cookies stacked on top of each other. And because he’s a true New Yorker, he’s frowning skeptically while smoking a cigarette (you can hear him yell fuggedaboudit and getoutahere just by looking at him). Needless to say, he’s also a prominent presence on Quarternsacks hoodies, t-shirts, and caps.Â

Besides their regular collections, Quarternsacks has a long history of teaming up with other skateboarding brands. In 2014 QS released the immensely popular Quarternsacks x Nike SB Dunk Low, which was followed up by a Quarternsacks x Nike SB Blazer Low in 2018. In addition, Quartersnacks is known to join forces with wheels manufacturer Spitfire regularly. If you’re craving some tasty Quartersnacks, be sure to check out our webshop and our store in Frankfurt.
