PLEASURES came into being in Los Angeles, California, in 2015. Founded by Alex James and Vlad Elkin, the PLEASURES brand produces clothing and accessories that are heavily inspired by the music and subcultures of the 1980’s and 1990’s. The collections often refer to the pop culture of that time, including grunge, punk rock, hip hop, and rock-and-roll, while always staying tongue-in-cheek. That said, the streetwear company is not just about selling merch; frequently, its creators use it as a platform to speak about social and political issues (without coming across as total try-hards). Accordingly, PLEASURES t-shirts and longsleeves are colorful, often adorned with large-format graphics, and satirical messages.
